It is funny that there is no green tea in this shot. It was named because of the green color from the combination of ingredients being mixed together.

This whiskey cocktail is made with basic bar ingredients that taste amazing when combined.ย  It is super light and refreshing.

You may also hear this cocktail called a Jameson Green Tea Shot. I will say it does not taste like actual green tea the flavor is closer to a mellow Kamikaze shot.

What's in a Green Tea Shot?

I think it is really funny when you look at the Green Tea shot ingredients and there is no green tea in the cocktail recipe.

    • Jameson Irish Whiskey
    • Peach Schnapps Liqueur
    • Sweet and Sour Mix
    • Sprite
    • Ice

Garnish - There is no garnish for this shot.

Jameson Irish Whiskey - This is the recommended whiskey brand for this cocktail but you can use any popular whiskey brand you enjoy.

Sweet and Sour Mix - Can be found at your local liquor store or grocery store. It is a combination of lemon juice and lime juice with simple syrup.

Sprite - We really enjoy the flavor of Sprite in this cocktail. You can use sugar free diet Sprite or sweetened lemonade for an alternative.

Do I need Green Tea to make a Green Tea Shot?

No, there is no actual green tea in this cocktail shot. There are no antioxidants in this shot.

    Recipe Tips

Make sure to measure your shot glasses so you know how much liquid they hold. This shot is a little over 1.5 ounces so you will want to use a 2-ounce shot glass.

You can easily double, triple or more this recipe if you are making them for a party.

Feel free to change this recipe up and switch the Jameson Irish Whiskey for an American Whiskey or Japanese Whiskey.

While this cocktail is set up to be a shot you can easily adapt it to be a martini or larger cocktail. Simply double the ingredients and follow the same instructions.

If you are not a fan of carbonation or Sprite you can change this out for lemonade.
