I love snacking on oyster crackers while I am working. They are the perfect easy snack you can customize the flavor for.

We make ranch oyster crackers in the crockpot and also dill oyster crackers depending on what flavor we are craving.

My husband likes spicy flavors so I decided to make these spicy oyster crackers for him as a surprise.

They are so easy to make and only take a few minutes to prepare which always makes me happy.

I will warn you these seasoned spicy ranch oyster crackers are addictive!!! It is really easy to look down and realize the entire bowl is empty.

They taste amazing served on tomato soup or chili! The perfect spicy cracker to top off a favorite comfort food.

Hidden Valley Ranch Mix, Oyster Crackers, and Red Pepper Flakes

    Ingredients
    • Oyster Crackers
    • Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
    • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
    • Oil

Oyster Crackers - You can find these in the cracker aisle of most grocery stores. For some reason, our local grocery store always puts them on the highest shelf.

Vegetable Oil - you can use any neutral flavored oil in this recipe. Olive oil will add a bit of extra flavor to these seasoned oyster crackers.

    Equipment

    Ziploc bag

Baking Sheetย - I like using a baking sheet with sides so I don't accidentally slide all of the oyster crackers into the bottom of the stove.

    Large spoons

Parchment Paper - Parchment paper makes it easy to transfer the cooked spicy oyster crackers to a container.

I have seen a few recipes floating around that do not bake the oyster crackers with the spices. They are made in a Ziploc bag and then packaged in a container. I like to bake the oyster crackers so the flavors bake in and really attach to the crackers.

    Recipe Tips

Don't forget to preheat the oven

Make sure to cool before serving! You don't want to burn your tongue.

These Spicy Oyster Crackers make a great DIY Gift. You can put them in a large mason jar with a ribbon or cute decorative container.

Shake the baking dish back and forth a few times gently to spread the oyster crackers out.

Plan time for the oyster crackers to cool for at least an hour.

Store these spicy ranch oyster crackers in an air-tight container. We keep them in a Ziploc bag on the counter.

Depending on where you grew up Oyster Crackers are also called water crackers, Philadelphia Crackers, and/or Trenton Crackers.
