My dear Husband John grew up in Alabama and loves anything Cajun, Southern, or Spicy. You have to love when your husband doesn't care what it is called he just wants a 2nd and 3rd serving of it.

This dish renewed my husband's love for Okra. Now he wants me to make recipes that okra is a focus in them. Any suggestions?

This Pacific Northwest Girl did not grow up with okra so I am not sure what all to do with it.

Check out these great sides for stew.

    Ingredients

    • Kielbasa
    • Diced tomatoes
    • Frozen mixed veggies
    • Cajun seasoning
    • Large shrimp
    • Frozen sliced okra
    • Hot cooked rice

    Recipe Tips

Be prepared the rice sucks up all of the liquid quickly in this recipe. Once it sits for a bit it isn't as liquidy as you might imagine for a stew but it is still so good.

I've never seen kielbasa and shrimp together before. What an interesting flavor combination!

I'm not a shrimp fan, but I think this would be delicious with everything else but the shrimp. Yum!
