Crazy Eye Cookies

Woohoo! It is finally October which means we can flood the internet with Halloween recipes!

Ok, maybe flood the internet is a bit strong but we are definitely excited to share fun Halloween recipes like these Crazy Eye Cookies with everyone! I love Halloween sweet treats. There is just something so fun about a treat that is one part delicious the other part kind of creepy.

I also love Halloween Treats that are crazy easy to make and do not take hours in the kitchen to make look good. These Crazy Eye Cookies are perfect for Halloween parties and treats!

Cookie Ingredients:

  • Oreo cookies
  • Chocolate M & M's - brown shell
  • Royal Icing

Icing Ingredients:

  • Egg whites
  • Powder sugar
  • Cream of tartar
  • Orange, purple, and red gel food coloring

If you do not want to make royal icing you can also use icing pens

The colors may not be as vivid but it is a little less work and a lot easier if you have little helpers.

Equipment Needed

Baking Sheets - We are huge fans of these baking sheets with sides.

Parchment Paper -  I love that I can use parchment paper to help make it easier to clean up.

Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.

Small Bowls - To mix the different colors

Recipe Tips

This recipe can be adapted to making the Eyes on sugar cookies or other flat desserts if you don't feel like using OREOS.

You can use any flavor of Oreos that you prefer. There are fun Halloween Oreo flavors if you want to have an orange base instead of white for the eyes.

You could also use candy eyes for the cookies instead of chocolate M&Ms.
