Do you have huckleberries in your area? They are one of our favorite summertime treats. We pick them up at the farmer's markets while they are fresh. They are a tiny fruit that takes a lot of work to pick. If you don't have huckleberries in your area you could easily do blueberries or another fruit to make this Crockpot Huckleberry BBQ Sauce Ribs Recipe.

Crockpot Huckleberry BBQ Sauce Ribs Recipe

You can also leave out the fruit and just make this as a Crock-Pot Barbecue Ribs Recipe.

  • Red onions
  • Garlic
  • Brown sugar
  • Ketchup
  • Cider vinegar
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Huckleberry Jelly
  • Chili powder
  • Baby back ribs

Ingredients

  • 2 racks Baby Back Pork Ribs

Huckleberry BBQ Sauce Recipe

  • 2 small red onions finely chopped
  • 3-4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • ½ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2-3 Tablespoon Huckleberry Jelly
  • ½ teaspoon Chili Powder

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a skillet, add onions and garlic, cook until softened and lightly browned. Add in brown sugar, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, huckleberry jelly, Worcestershire Sauce, and chili powder. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Place ribs in the crock pot, pour ½ of the barbecue sauce over the ribs. Cook on low for 8-9 hours.
  • Remove ribs from the crock pot and pour remaining barbecue sauce over the top

    This looks so good be used but I wouldn't know where to find huckleberries in my area. Can something be used as a substitution?

      You could easily substitute a different flavor jelly or fruit. Maybe blueberry. I have done barbecue with grape jelly also but have not tried it on the ribs.
