My dear husband LOVES Banana Pudding! He grew up in Alabama and would happily have banana pudding for dessert any day of the week.

I decided to surprise him with this banana pudding poke cake. I thought it would be a fun twist on classic banana pudding. Plus how can you go wrong when a cake is involved.

John loved it so much he took pics and texted his sister who still lives in Alabama to rub it in that he was having banana pudding. LOL! I figure that must mean he really loved it. That and he has asked for it again multiple times.

He loves Banana Pudding so much I even made a Nutter Butter Banana Pudding for him.

    Ingredients

    • Yellow Cake Mix
    • Eggs
    • Oil
    • Water
    • Instant Banana Pudding
    • Milk
    • Cool-Whip
    • Vanilla Wafers - We used Nilla Wafers
    • Bananas

    Recipe Tips

Make sure to let the cake cool with the banana pudding for at least 2 hours so you have a solid surface to spread the cool-whip on.

You can wait to add the Nilla Wafers until right before you serve it to keep them crunchy.

I add the bananas just before serving so they look the best and do not turn brown.
