The Chef's Table on the Carnival Sunshine

Published: Jan 15, 2015 · This post may contain affiliate links

During our cruise on the Carnival Sunshine, we experienced foodie paradise! A moment that our taste buds will always remember as heaven on a cruise ship and wish to repeat over and over again!  You see we had the opportunity to experience the Chef's Table on the Carnival Sunshine and it was pure foodie heaven!

The Chef's Table on the Carnival Sunshine

From the moment we sat down to the last delectable bite we were treated like kings and queens. Personal servers, delectable food, and an amazing atmosphere are all part of the Chef's Table experience.

The experience starts with champagne in the lobby while the group meets each other. We then toured the galley of the ship during dinner preparation and saw just how crazy it can be serving 2,000 plus guests on a cruise ship. During our galley demonstration, we were treated to bite-size appetizers that were delightful!

Beef Carpaccio on-air pillow with Chocolate bacon and an apple ribbon.....oh my!

Buffalo Mozzarella Crudo on an air pillow!

These were just the appetizers during the galley tour! We knew we were in for an amazing meal after just these small bites.

One of the best bites was these mango spheres on rosemary biscuits. I do have to warn you though! If you have the chance to enjoy the mango spheres make sure you take the entire bite in your mouth at one time.

Do not bite into the middle of the mango sphere.......I made this mistake and let's just say the inside is an amazing mango juice that tastes great but does go a bit everywhere when you bite into the middle of it. Thank goodness for a dark shirt 🙂

After touring the galley and learning about the process to make the decadent Carnival Chocolate Melting Cake we made our way to a special dining area just for our group.

Bisque Our Way includes two tomatoes, three basil, crisped brioche, and garlic chips....yum!

Our menu included

Beet Blanket, Spiced Grape Tea
Asparagus, Cauliflower, Honey Carrot Tian, Mache, and Lemon Streusel

Crab Stack
Corn Custard, Polenta Cracker, Tangerine, Passion Caviar

Duck Textures
Creamy Quinoa, Parmesan Churros, Olive Snow, Port Wine Jus

Bisque Our Way
Two Tomatoes, Three Basil, Crisped Brioche, Garlic Chips

Sea Bass
Chorizo Crust, Fried Popcorn pudding, Lemon Macaroon, Lobster Foam

Wagyu
Bone Marrow Souffle, Scallion & Garlic Panisse, Gremolata Crisp

If you are vegetarian don't worry! The chef prepared a special menu for me that was amazing!

Beet Blanket, Spiced Grape Tea
Asparagus, Cauliflower, Honey Carrot Tian, Mache, and Lemon Streusel

Pumpkin Parfait
Corn Custard, polenta cracker, tangerine, passion caviar

Stuffed Sweet Peppers
Creamy Quinoa, parmesan churros, olive snow

Bisque our way
Two Tomatoes, Three Basil, Crisped Brioche, Garlic Chips

Royal Lentil Cakes
Fried Popcorn pudding, a lemon macaroon

Macaroni and Cheese Croquettes
peperonata, scallion & garlic Panisse, gremolata crisp

Now if all of this wasn't enough there is still dessert!

Sea salt praline chocolate, raspberry mojito, key lime cake, apricot vanilla gel, and citrus cream...oh my yes!

The entire dining experience at the Chef's Table was beyond amazing!

If you love food you need to experience the Chef's Table! It is only $75/person and so worth it! You will have a meal you will talk about for years.

Make sure and book your reservation as soon as you can once your cruise is booked. The Chef's Table is offered on a limited basis depending on the cruise you are on.

Carnival Chef's Table is available on all Carnival Cruise Ships.

The Gremolota Crisp on Carnival's vegetarian Chef's Table.....I want the recipe and have searched to find something that resembles it, but no luck. Do you know where I may be able to find this recipe. It was a philo dough and mushroom filling and brushed with butter and some herb. I want to make this at home. Any suggestions where I might find the recipe?

The only reason I want to ever go on a cruise again is for the food. It was my absolute favorite part of the one cruise I went on. This just proves my point - the food looks amazing.
