Easy Hungarian Goulash Recipe

When we did a Viking River Cruise a year or so ago John inhaled every bowl of goulash he could find while we were exploring. We were in Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic and I thought he was going to order a 2nd and 3rd bowl of goulash it was so good.

Plus you can't go wrong when the views from lunch look like this!

To say we are ready to go back to Europe would be an understatement. LOL! Until that happens I will be making this delicious Hungarian Goulash Recipe at home! Especially right now when it is snowing and oh so cold.

If you don't want to stand by the stove making this check out our Crock Pot Beef Goulash Recipe!

This beef goulash is rich and hearty! Filled with meat, carrots, garlic, and onion the flavors are amazing.

I didn't realize before I made this recipe that there are different versions of goulash including an American Goulash. I learned that the American Goulash is cooked with ground beef and egg noodles and is usually a pretty quick recipe made in about 30 minutes.

We made this recipe with lean beef chuck so it is rich and hearty. I wanted it to be super filling on a cold winter night. You do want to plan ahead since this goulash recipe needs to simmer for two hours so the beef chuck is nice and tender.
