If you love black jelly beans, you are going to love this triple-layered shot drink. We are having so much fun making candy-inspired shots.

We are working on a ton more over the next few weeks and months.

Rose's Grenadine Bottle, Sambuca and Southern Comfort Bottles next to two shot glasses surrounded by jelly beans

    Ingredients

    • Grenadine
    • Sambuca Liqueur
    • Southern Comfort

Grenadine -ย  You can also use blackberry brandy to add a fruity flavor.

Sambuca - You can also use anisette liqueur or an anise-flavored liqueur

    Equipment needed

2 oz shot glass - We love these 2-ounce shot glasses, especially for layered shots.

Bar Spoon - Bar spoons help to create layers in the cocktail shot. They fit perfectly into the cocktail shot glass.

OXO angled jiggers - these are our go-to measuring tools for cocktails. They work perfectly for pouring in layers for cocktails.

How to make a Jelly Bean Shot

Don't worry; the instructions to make this jelly bean shot are easy to follow!

The most important thing is holding the bartending spoon steady and slowly pouring over the back of it.

Step 1 - Pour grenadine into the bottom of each glass. Try to keep it in the middle of the shot glass and prevent it from pouring down the side of the glass.

This will help keep your layered shot in clean layers.

Step 2 - Slowly pour the Sambuca over the back of a bartending spoon so it layers on top of the Grenadine.

Step 3 - Rotate the shot glass and slowly pour the Southern Comfort over a clean bartending spoon to create the 3rd layer.

If your party shooter does not layer perfectly don't worry it will still taste great.

If you are not worried about the layers you can add all of the ingredients to a mixing glass or cocktail shaker and shake/stir until chilled and strain into a shot glass.

There is also a sweet variation of this ย jelly bean shot cocktail recipes that uses blue curacao, cherry vodka, and pineapple juice. This shot is brightly colored and more fruity in flavor.
