This Mini Beer not only tastes great but looks fun, too! How can you go wrong serving a little beer that will surprise party guests?

Licor 43 bottle next to a container of Heavy Whipping Cream.

What's in a Mini Beer Shot

Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients needed to make an epic Mini Beer Shot! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.

    • Licor 43 Liqueur
    • Heavy Cream

Licor 43 Liqueur is a Spanish vanilla liqueur produced in Cartagena, Spain. The liqueur uses a family recipe that has been a secret for 76 years.

It features 43 natural ingredients, including Mediterranean citrus fruits, botanicals, herbs, and spices. The liquor gets its name from the 43 natural ingredients it contains.

Licor 43 Spanish Liqueur has a sweet, floral, citrus flavor that is complex but smooth to drink. I love the notes of vanilla and citrus.

Licor 43 Original is 31% ABV.

    Equipment Needed

    • Mini Beer Shot Glasses/Shot glass
    • Cocktail Bar Spoon
    • Cocktail Pourer - We use these angled jiggers to make it really easy to pour into shot glasses.

Hand pouring Licor 43 into a mini beer glass sitting on a coaster.

How to Make a Mini Beer Shot

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

Add chilled Licor 43 to a mini beer glass.

Pour whipping cream over the back of a bartending spoon and on top of the Licor 43 to create the foam head and make it look like a frothy, chilled beer. You can decide how thick a layer of heavy cream you want on each drink. The heavy cream adds an epic creamy finish to this cocktail shot.

    Cheers! Enjoy!

    Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead: We do not suggest preparing this cocktail shot beforehand, as you will lose the frothy beer โ€œheadโ€ that adds to the presentation.

    Recipe Variations

    Substitutions:

We recommend using Licor 43 in this cocktail shot recipe, as it has a unique flavor with no close substitutes. The closest substitute is Tuaca, an Italian vanilla brandy with similar features but will still give your Mini Beer Shot a different taste.

Vegetarian Option: The Mini Beer Shot is 100 percent vegetarian!

Vegan Option: Vegans will only need to replace the heavy whipping cream with a plant-based substitute, as Licor 43 confirms in its FAQs that it is safe for vegans.

Gluten-Free: This recipe is safe for a vegan diet! Licor 43 also confirms in its FAQs that its product is gluten-free.

Alcohol-Free Option: To make it alcohol-free, replace the Licor 43 with an NA substitute. We recommend starting with a non-alcoholic vanilla-flavored liqueur and seeing what tastes best.

    Larger Group/More Servings:

For more servings, multiply the recipe by the number of shots you need and divide the mixture between each shot glass. Be prepared to work in batches if youโ€™re serving a large group.

    Sugar-Free:ย

We could not find nutrition facts on Licor 43, but various sources confirm that it contains 10 to 12 grams of sugar per 1-ounce shot. We found no sugar-free alternatives to Licor 43.

Tips for the Best Mini Beer Shot

    • We suggest chilling the Licor 43 before making this party cocktail, so it is nice and cold. You can place it in the freezer for a few hours to get it chilled or keep it in the fridge overnight.
    • I love that this drink tastes like a decadent creamsicle.
    • Use a mixing glass to make this recipe if you want to pour out multiple little beer shots at a time. Otherwise, you can skip it.
    • We purchased our bottle of Licor 43 at our local Total Wine, but you should be able to find it at any liquor store with a decent selection.
