What's a Polar Bear Shot

I love the mint chocolate taste of this polar bear shot drink! I also love that it is only 2 ingredients and takes barely any time to make.

If you are hosting a winter party, an après ski party, or just want a fun winter cocktail you will love this recipe!

This shot was made famous on Schitt's Creek. Is anyone else hoping and praying that future seasons of Schitt's Creek happen? I loved the show and miss seeing the characters each week. Though I have been watching the reruns and they are still so dang funny.

What's in a Polar Bear Shot?

  • White Crème de Cacao
  • Peppermint Schnapps or white crème de menthe

White crème de menthe - you can use green Crème de Menthe if that is all you have but be prepared the drink will be green in color instead of clear.

Equipment Needed

Cocktail Shaker

2oz Shot Glasses

Ice

How to make a Polar Bear Shot

Step 1 - Add white crème de cacao to cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Step 2 - Add Peppermint Schnapps or White crème de menthe to cocktail shaker.

Shake until drink is chilled.

Step 3 - Strain into a shot glass. Enjoy

Recipe Tips

This recipe can be made smaller to fit 1oz shot glasses or made larger to fit a martini glass or rocks glass.

Chilling the shot glass works great for this cocktail recipe.

To get your shot glasses really cold rinse them in cold water and then place them in the coldest part of your freezer. They will have a great arctic chill perfect for a polar bear.

You can add a ½ oz of vodka to this recipe to change the flavor a bit and make the cocktail stronger. Just make sure you have enough room in your shot glass.
