White Chocolate Dipped Sugar Wafers

We are a week out to Christmas which means tons of holiday baking and all the fun that comes with preparing for the holiday. I love this time of year but it can also be a bit stressful trying to get all the things done and make everyone in the family happy.

I love that these White Chocolate Dipped Sugar Wafers take minutes to prep and everyone can help decorate them. They are a quick and easy holiday treat that can be made for pretty much any holiday.

Plus they taste delicious! You can use vanilla wafer cookies or go fancy and try fun flavors. We love using the Manner Wafer Cookies that we first fell in love with in Switzerland.

My husband buys them every time we stop into CostPlus World Market. He heads straight to the sweet snack aisle and picks up a few packages for his lunch treats.

Kids love how fun and easy it is to create their own personal treats. This is a super kid friendly recipe! Check out our Chocolate Covered Oreos for another fun holiday treat.

Chocolate Dipped Wafer ingredients, holiday sprinkles, vanilla wafers, vanilla candy coating

Ingredients

  • Sugar Wafer Cookie
  • White Candy Bark Coating
  • Sprinkles

Sugar Wafer Cookies -  You can use any flavor of Sugar Wafer Cookies you enjoy. We love making these chocolate-coated wafer cookies with vanilla wafers, Lemon Wafers, Chocolate wafers, strawberry wafers, key lime, orange, or banana. Honestly, any flavor tastes amazing.

Sprinkles - Change up the sprinkles depending on the holiday you are making these for. This is the perfect reason to buy the sprinkle assortment container and have so much fun decorating.

Candy Melts - Add in fun colors and designs by melting candy melts

White Candy Bark Coating - We use candy bark for most of our covered desserts but you can melt white chocolate chips.

Equipment Needed

Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.

Wooden Spoon

Parchment Paper

Jelly Roll Baking Dish/cookie sheet with sides

How to make Chocolate Dipped Sugar Wafers

Melted vanilla almond bark in a glass bowl next to a plate of vanilla wafers and holiday sprinkles

Step 1 - Melt White chocolate bark until it is smooth. Make sure you use a dry bowl when melting the chocolate.

Melt in 30 second intervals and stir in between each 30 seconds to prevent the chocolate from burning.

When the chocolate is 70-80% melted continually stir to see if the heat from the chocolate will melt the remaining chocolate. This will help prevent burning the chocolate. Trust me you do not want that flavor!

The chocolate should be melted and smooth.

Step 2 - Dip the sugar wafers in the melted chocolate ¾ of the way covered. You can cover the sugar wafers half way, totally dippers, or even just the ends it is completely up to you.

When dipping wafers make sure to let the excess drip off so you get evenly coated chocolate dipped wafers.

Step 3 - Placed chocolate dipped sugar wafer on parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with sprinkles or colored sugar.

If you wait to long to add the sprinkles the chocolate will harden and the sprinkles will fall off.

Recipe Tips

You can make these chocolate covered sugar wafers into Valentine's Day Treats, Christmas Treats, or change them up for any occasion you need a fun and festive dessert that takes minutes to prepare.

Store at room temperature in an air tight container.

We use parchment paper instead of wax paper because it is so easy to remove the chocolate coated wafers.
