I figured it was time for a break from mummy recipes after 7 days of them so today we are sharing these easy fun Halloween Bandaids cookies.

I know it is really creepy to think about plating bloody band-aids but thankfully these are made with wafer cookies and white chocolate so they taste good.

I always get super creeped out coming up with bloody Halloween treats. They are so cool to look at but also make me a bit queasy every time I photograph them.

Though it was fun asking my husband if he wanted a bloody Band Aid with his dinner. The look I got was priceless.

I really wish I would have set up a camera to catch his response. You would think he would be used to all of the crazy Halloween Recipes I whip up every year.

While I know these are a little gross I feel like kids will love them. I mean when else during the year can you serve bloody band-aid cookies and not have people think it is crazy.

This is the time of year to go all out with simple treats that make your guests say EWWWWW!!!

These bloody dirty band aid cookies are the perfect addition to a Halloween party platter.

We hope you have a Happy Halloween and can't wait to hear about all the Halloween food you make for your holiday.

Bring on all the ghosts, goblins, vampires, and fun!

    Ingredients

This is a quick overview of the simple ingredients that you'll need to make super fun Bloody Band-Aid Cookies! Specific measurements and step-by-step instructions are included in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

    • Sugar Wafer Cookies
    • White Chocolate Candy Melt/white icing/white frosting
    • Strawberry Jam or Edible Blood

Sugar Wafer Cookies - If you don't have vanilla wafers you can use graham crackers. I love the look of the sugar wafers since they look like bandages from a distance.

Strawberry Jam or Edible Blood - You can also use red food coloring, but I like adding in the jam or edible blood because it is thicker and there is less chance of it running right off the bandage. You can also buy red icing

    Equipment Needed

Baking Sheets - We are huge fans of these baking sheets with sides. You don't have to worry; you will move the cookies and have them slide right off.

Parchment Paper -ย  I love that I can use parchment paper to help make clean-up a breeze.

Butter Knife - to spread the white chocolate candy melt into a square on the sugar wafer cookie.

Toothpick - To move the edible blood where you want it.

    How to make Bandaid Cookies

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

Step 1 - Gather supplies, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

We suggest lining a baking sheet with parchment paper to catch any extra red edible blood or icing that may slide off your bloody band aid cookies. The last thing you want is to have red food coloring on your counters.

Vanilla wafers with white icing in the middle of them.

Step 2 - Melt Candy melt/White chocolate melts in the microwave in 30-second intervals, making sure to stir after every interval. Make sure to use a microwave-safe bowl

Use a knife to spread the melted chocolate into a square in the center of the wafer cookies. Allow to sit and harden.

Step 3 - Spread edible blood in the white square. You can spread as much as you want to create different levels of bloody bandages.

    Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead โ€“ These Bloody Bandage Cookies can be made ahead of your party. Just store them in an airtight container until you are ready to serve them.

Storage โ€“ Store in an airtight container

Freezing/How to freeze โ€“ Sugar Wafer Cookies can be frozen in a freezer safe container. We have not tried freezing them.

    Recipe Variations

Substitutions - Any flat square cookie would work for these Band Aid Cookies.

Vegetarian Option - These cookies are vegetarian.

Vegan Option โ€“ Use vegan cookies and icing.

Gluten Free - Use Gluten Free Wafer Cookies.

Smaller Serving Size โ€“ I love that with this recipe you can make 1 cookie or 200 depending on what you need.

Larger Group/More servings โ€“ This delicious treat recipe can easily be used to make a large platter of cookies for events.
