    Pasta commonly served with bolognese sauce includeย tagliatelle pasta and spaghetti. This is a rich and hearty sauce that you want to stick to your pasta noodles. Picking a noodle that has space for the sauce to attach to and not be overwhelmed by the delicious meaty sauce.

    I love making crockpot pasta dishes! A couple of favorites include Slow Cooker Cheeseburger Pasta, Slow Cooker Mexican Mac and Cheese, and Slow Cooker Taco Pasta. It is so much fun seeing what different flavors you can pair with great pasta.

    Ingredients needed for Crock Pot Bolognese Sauce

    • Lean ground beef
    • Yellow onion
    • Garlic
    • Bay leaves
    • Fresh parsley
    • Sugar
    • Dried basil
    • Dried oregano
    • Crushed tomatoes
    • Tomato puree
    • Tomato paste
    • Water
    • Dry red wine = Cabernet Sauvignon,ย Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz/Syrah, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, andย Cabernetย Franc

    We normally make this with lean ground beef. You can easily make this with ground turkey or bison depending on which meat you enjoy.

    Equipment Needed

    Medium Skillet - To brown the beef and onion in

    Mix n Chop - We use the mix n chop to break up the ground beef and love it.

    Crockpot - We suggest using a crockpot that has a digital timer that automatically switches the slow cooker to warm after a set amount of time. This helps make sure your dinner cooks perfectly and you don't have to stress about what time it is going to be done.

    Leftovers can be frozen for up to 6 months

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb lean ground beef
    • ยฝ cup yellow onion finely chopped
    • 4 cloves Garlic minced
    • 1 Bay Leaf
    • 2 Tablespoon fresh parsley minced
    • 1 teaspoon White Sugar
    • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
    • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
    • 14.5 oz Crushed Tomatoes
    • 10.75 oz tomato puree
    • 6 oz tomato paste
    • 3 Tablespoon cup water
    • โ…“ cup dry red wine
    US Customary - Metric

    Instructions

    • In a medium skillet, cook beef, onion , and garlic over medium-high heat, breaking up hamburger, drain off fat
    • Transfer beef mixture to crock pot, add in bay leaves, parsley, sugar, basil, oregano, crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, tomato paste, wine and water, stir gently. Season to taste with salt and pepper
    • Cover and cook on low 5-7 hours, or high for 2.5-3.5 hours
    • Discard bay leave
