I don't know many people who are not huge fans of classic Rice Krispie Treats. The combination of crunchy cereal and melted marshmallows is just plain delicious.

While I was visiting all of our favorite Spokane Bakeries to put together our best Bakeries in Spokane Guide I realized that I have not been sharing enough fun Rice Krispie Treats. There are so many great mix-ins and updates that can be added to classic Rice Krispie Treats to make them even more amazing.

We started by sharing these epic Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats and now are moving forward with sharing delicious oh my goodness yes please Oreo Rice Krispie Treats.

Have you seen the Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treats and Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treats we shared a while ago?

I have to tell you that while I was making these Oreo Rice Krispies my husband was standing right next to me. He kept not so casually mentioning that he would be happy to get the first taste of the batch I was making. LOL!

    Ingredients

    • Oreos
    • Butter
    • Mini-Marshmallows
    • Rice Krispie Cereal

We make these with regular Rice Krispies Cereal. These can be made with Cocoa Krispies if you want more chocolate flavor.

I used Double Stuff Oreos but you could easily make these with any flavor of Oreo Cookies to change up the overall taste or add in a fun new flavor.

    Equipment Needed

Large Pot - Make sure you use a large enough pot that the ingredients can easily be mixed inside and not fly out.

Sturdy Wooden Spoon - I like to use a sturdy wooden spoon to mix everything together. Make sure it can handle mixing a ton of ingredients together.

9x13 baking dish - This is the perfect size for this recipe. You can use an 8x8 pan if you want thicker treats

Parchment Paper - I am a huge fan of using parchment paper to make clean up and serving so much easier. You can also use wax paper but I feel like parchment paper works the best.

    Recipe Tips

This recipe uses 1 regular size bag of mini marshmallows. The recipe card below has them measured out to 5 cups which is equal to a regular size mini marshmallow bag.

Make sure to break up the Oreo Cookies into different size pieces so they mix well into the Rice Krispie mixture. I use a wooden spoon to break up the Oreos.

Melt the butter over medium to low heat so you can prevent it from burning.

You can spray your hands with a bit of cooking spray which will help press the mixture down into the baking dish and keep it from sticking to your hands.

We store these at room temperature in an airtight container if they last long enough to have leftovers.  This great recipe is always a hit and disappears quickly.
