Air Fryer Donuts

Making donuts in the air fryer is a great alternative to oil-fried doughnuts. These doughnuts are easy to prepare and you can customize them with fun glazes or toppings.

We absolutely love these air fryer biscuit donuts. If you don't have an air fryer you can also make these in oil with this biscuit donut recipe.

Making donuts in the air fryer is a great way to add a sweet treat to breakfast or brunch. We love making these on weekend mornings to up our brunch game. Don't get me wrong I love local Spokane Donut Shops but there is also something amazing about not having to leave the house and staying in comfy clothes all morning long.

All you need to make this air fryer doughnut recipe is a can of refrigerator biscuits, cinnamon and sugar, and a bit of butter or butter spray. That is it!

You can make semi-homemade donuts in minutes that everyone will love!

Equipment Needed

Your favorite Air Fryer - You can use an air fryer that has a basket or we have a smart oven with an air fryer built-in.

Circle cutter - I use this circle set of cutters for almost everything. The small circle works perfectly for cutting a hole in the center of each biscuit. You can also use a biscuit cutter or piping tip. Anything small and circular to cut the biscuits.

Small bowl - for the glaze or cinnamon-sugar mixture

How to make Air Fryer Donuts

Once the holes have been cut in the biscuits plate them into the air fryer with space around them. Depending on your air fryer you will most likely fit 3-4. Make sure you spray the air fryer with olive oil spray beforehand.

Air Fry for 3-4 minutes and then flip the biscuit donuts. I use a wooden skewer to flip the biscuit dough.

Air fry an additional 3-4 minutes checking in the last few minutes to make sure they are brown but not burnt.

Remove from the air fryer and spray with butter spray or brush melted butter onto the donuts. Dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture or your favorite icing.

Donut Holes

You can cook the center of the biscuits to make doughnut holes. They will take between 2-3 minutes to cook.

Recipe Tips

Spray air fryer pan with coconut oil spray or olive oil non-stick spray so the doughnuts do not stick. We try not to use non-stick cooking spray like Pam because it can damage the air fry basket.

There is parchment paper made just for air fryers that can help with keeping the donuts from sticking.

Air Fryer Donuts from Pillsbury Grands Biscuits! We use Pillsbury Grands biscuits when we make this doughnut recipe. You can also use store brands.

Cooking Times will vary depending on your air fryer. Keep an eye on your delicious donuts to make sure they are cooking properly.

If you are cooking multiple batches of air fryer donuts the cooking time will decrease as the air fryer warms up. The biscuits should be golden brown in color.

Leftover air fried donuts should be kept in an airtight container at room temperature.
