I have to admit that I enjoy this spinach dip a lot! I usually end up eating most of it, and during the workday, I find myself walking back to the refrigerator, making a small bowl with some chips, and taking it to my desk.

This recipe honestly makes the perfect party dip! It has a classic taste everyone loves, but with a bit of a twist using the Knorr vegetable recipe mix.

We serve this as a cold spinach dip recipe, which I love because you can make it before guests arrive and let it rest in the refrigerator so the flavors can meld into deliciousness.

I am all about any party appetizers that come together beforehand to avoid running around the kitchen to get everything done right before your guests arrive.

I always worry I will have curlers in my hair or be half-dressed in my party clothes, and someone will knock on the door early.

Thankfully, we started building a recipe box of appetizers that can be made beforehand, including finger food appetizers, so party prep is much easier.

Mayonnaise, sour cream, spinach, knorr vegetable dip mix

    Ingredients

Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients needed to make an epic Knorr Spinach Dip! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.

    • Frozen Chopped Spinach
    • Sour Cream
    • Real Mayonnaise: Hellmann's or Best Foods are our favorites!
    • Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix packet

Optional: 8 oz. Water Chestnuts, 3 Green Onions, artichokes hearts, bacon bits

Favorite Dippers: Crackers, Chips, Corn Chips, Veggies, Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Cucumber, carrots, celery, Toasted Slice of Sourdough Bread, tortilla chips, crostini.

We love the crunch of carrot sticks and celery sticks with this easy spinach dip recipe.

This creamy dip also looks fantastic in a bread bowl! In our photos of this recipe, we transferred it to a round loaf of bread to turn it into a centerpiece appetizer.

What is in Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix?

According to Knorr the soup mix is a symphony of flavors thanks to the presence of carrots, onions, tomatoes, celery root, leeks, cabbage, cauliflower, green peas and potatoes.

    Equipment Needed

    • Paper Towels
    • Mixing Large Bowl with Lid
    • Spatula/Wooden Spoon

Paper Towelsย - This is the easiest way toย squeezeย the excess water out of theย chopped spinach. Make sure to cool the spinach down before squeezing it. You want to get asย much liquidย out of the spinach as possible.

How to Make Knorr Spinach Dip

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a short version.

    1. Allow frozen spinach to thaw, then squeeze dry.
    2. Combine spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, and Knorr Vegetable Mix and stir until well combined.
    3. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill the dip.

    Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead: Plan for this Knorr Spinach Dip to rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Storage: Knorr Spinach Dip has a leg up on how well itโ€™ll keep due to the vegetable mix, but it wonโ€™t last forever. Always store your dip in an airtight container, consume it within four to five days, and donโ€™t keep it out of the fridge for longer than two hours.

Freezing/How to Freeze: We donโ€™t recommend freezing your dip, as it contains dairy that will separate and change texture if frozen and thawed.

How to Reheat: We like enjoying this Knorr Spinach Dip cold! However, weโ€™ve found baked versions of this dip.

    ย

    Recipe Variations

Substitutions: A pound of cooked and cooled spinach is a fantastic substitute for chopped frozen spinach. An equal amount of plain Greek yogurt is a healthy substitute for sour cream.

Vegetarian + Vegan Options: Knorr vegetable soup mix contains lactose, which makes it vegetarian but unsafe for a vegan diet. Turn this recipe plant-based using a vegan vegetable soup mix, your favorite plant-based mayo, and your go-to vegan sour cream alternative.

Gluten-Free: Knorr offers unclear guidance on whether their vegetable soup mix contains gluten, so we recommend using a gluten-free alternative if this is a dietary concern.

Make it Spicy: Turn the heat up on your dip with red pepper flakes, a few dashes of hot sauce to taste, or a spicy ranch dip mix.

Larger Group/More Servings: Double this recipe if serving many guests. Itโ€™s one of those game-day appetizers everyone loves, so we tend to make at least a double serving.

Sugar-Free: This recipe should be low in sugar, but double-check the sugars in all your ingredients and add-ins to determine the sugar content of the final dip.

    ย

Tips for the Best Knorr Spinach Dip

    • You can serve this appetizer dip in a bowl or a bread bowl. We love the look of the bread bowl, and once you get through enough of the contents, you can tear off pieces to use as dippers.
    • Add water chestnuts and green onions to this recipe for extra flavor and texture. Water chestnuts are a vegetable staple in Chinese cuisine - no nuts here!

    ย

When to Serve + What to Serve With Knorr Spinach Dip

Outside of the usual cold cuts and chip and cracker-based dippers, we have a ton of dip-worthy recipes to pair with your Knorr Spinach Dip! Here are some ideas to get you started on planning your game day, tailgating, or anytime entertaining menu.
