No Bake Oreo Cheesecake
I love no-bake desserts! Not having to turn on the oven on a hot summer day is perfection.
I made the mistake of baking a cake a few weeks ago on a hot summer day and regretted it for hours as the air conditioning tried to lower the room temperature from crazy hot to manageable.
The hardest part of this recipe for Oreo Cheesecake No Bake is waiting while it chills in the refrigerator.
I am going to admit that I try to make this while my husband is at work so he doesn't stop by the fridge and taste test it before it has set.. Yep that was an issue a few times. LOL!
Ingredients
- Oreos
- Full Fat Cream Cheese
- Granulated Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
- Cool Whip
- Oreo Crust
Oreos - You can use any type of Oreos that you enjoy. The regular ones work great to break up a bit easier than the double-stuffed variety. We suggest buying the family size Oreos, so you have more than enough.
There is no need to remove the cream from the Oreos before chopping them.
Granulated Sugar - We like to use granulated sugar instead of powdered sugar for this recipe.
Oreo Crust - You can make a homemade Oreo crust or use a store-bought crust.
Toppings - Fresh whipping cream or Cool Whip. Oreo crumbles
Equipment Needed
Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keep the mixing bowl steady on the counter.
Hand Mixer/Stand Electric Mixer - You can mix this with either a hand mixer or your stand mixer.
Spatula
Pie Pan or 9-inch Cheesecake springform pan
Food Processor - If you are making a homemade Oreo Crumbs Crust.
How to Make a No-Bake Oreo Cheesecake
Step 1 - Combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract with a hand mixer in a large bowl.
Step 2 - Add chopped Oreos to the cream cheese mixture until combined. Fold in the Cool Whip gently until combined.
Step 3 - Spread the Oreo cheesecake filling into an Oreo crust, and chill for two hours in the refrigerator.
Step 4 - Garnish the no bake Oreo Cheesecake recipe with crushed Oreos and either freshly whipped heavy whipping cream or Cool Whip.
Recipe Tips
Start with room temperature cream cheese so it whips up perfectly.
This can be made with any flavor Oreo. You can use a bit of green food coloring and mint chocolate Oreos for a fun St. Patrick's Day treat.
We suggest covering the no bake Oreo Cheesecake with plastic wrap in the refrigerator to keep it covered.
We have not tried freezing this no bake cheesecake. It should freeze nicely when wrapped in plastic wrap and then placed in either a large freezer safe bag or wrapped in aluminum foil.
