Apple Stuffing Recipe

I love using cooking hacks to make life easier, especially around the holidays! This easy stuffing recipe with apples takes minutes to prepare and tastes fantastic.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is it doesn't take up space in the oven. You can make this on the stovetop, and it is quick and easy.

Pair this apple stuffing with slow cooker turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, Sweet Potato Casserole, and all of your favorite Thanksgiving recipes.

For a fun twist serve this next to pineapple stuffing and see which one your guests enjoy the most.

I am still trying to wrap my brain around the idea that Thanksgiving is this week. It feels like the past few months have flown by so quickly.

The next thing we know it is going to be Christmas morning and then New Years. I keep trying to figure out how to fit in all of the holiday fun, recipes, and still get a much needed nap in the next week.

Do you have big plans for the holidays?

Ingredients

This is a quick overview of the simple ingredients that you'll need to make an epic Apple Stuffing Side Dish! Specific measurements and step-by-step instructions are included in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • Tart Apple
  • Stove Top Stuffing Mix
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Onion
  • Celery
  • Salt and Black Pepper (if desired)

Optional add-ins - Pork Sausage would taste fantastic and turn this into a sausage apple stuffing! YUM! Add in pecans or walnut pieces for a bit of crunch.

We use Stove Top Stuffing Mix to make this quick and easy side dish. You can definitely use homemade stuffing or our slow cooker stuffing and just add in a few more ingredients.

If you are making homemade stuffing, you will want to plan on having fresh parsley, thyme, sage, sourdough bread cubes, chicken broth, and additional ingredients.

What are the best apples to use for stuffing?

We used Granny Smith Apples, but you could also use Pink Lady apples, honeycrisp, Golden Delicious, or another tart apple.

What type of Stuffing mix to use?

We used Stovetop Turkey Stuffing since we made this for Thanksgiving. You could also use the savory herbs variety, cornbread, or traditional sage depending on the flavor you prefer.

Apple Corer

Sharp Knife or Vegetable chopper - This is a huge time saver for chopping veggies.
