I love making apple butter when we have apples that need to be used up. We tend to buy a ton of apples every time we go to Costco or the grocery store since they make such an easy snack. I also really love adding apples to recipes. They are such a versatile ingredient.
This slow cooker apple butter is so dang easy to make which we love! You literally dump the ingredients in the crockpot and let it do the work. It is up to you how chunky you want your slow cooker. If you have an immersion blender you can blend this apple butter smooth.
We like the chunky look of this apple butter recipe and not having to clean one more thing. LOL

Crock Pot Chunky Apple Butter Recipe
Ingredients
- 5-6 apples
- ¼ cup Water
- ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- ¼ cup White Sugar
Instructions
- Core apples and rough chop
- Place in slow cooker
- Add cinnamon, water, and both sugars
- Gently stir
- Close lid and cook 4 ½ hours on low
- Add more water if needed
- Mash with a potato masher until you get your desired consistency
