A good easy dessert salad is the perfect recipe for potlucks, family dinner, or a quick and easy sweet treat. I love that you can customize this fluff salad with your favorite ingredients.

I made this Strawberry Jello Fluff Salad for a huge photo shoot we did a couple of weeks ago. Google interviewed me to talk about my story of becoming a writer and creating this website.

They sent a photographer from LA to Spokane to shoot photos of me cooking/baking in our home kitchen. It was such a surreal moment having a professional photographer taking photos in our house.

Total pinch me bucket list moment. I can honestly say when I started the website 15-ish years ago I never could have imagined Google wanting to share my story.

To say I will always think fondly of this strawberry fluff jello salad may not be strong enough verbiage. LOL!

What's not to love about an easy no bake dessert that looks fantastic on the table. Plus it is packed with Strawberry flavor perfect for spring and summer.

This light, creamy, and easy to make dessert salad takes minutes to prepare and tastes amazing.

    Ingredients

This is a quick overview of the simple ingredients that you'll need to make easy strawberry fluff recipe! Specific measurements and step-by-step instructions are included in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

    • Strawberry Jello
    • Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
    • Water (Boiling and cold)
    • Cool Whip Topping - This helps add creaminess to the fluff salad.
    • Fresh Strawberries
    • Mini Marshmallows

    Equipment Needed

I love that it only takes one bowl to make Strawberry Jello Fluff Salad. Fold everything together and you are ready to serve. I do use a cute bowl to serve the salad so it matches everything else.

Large Mixing Bowl - Make sure you use a large bowl big enough to mix everything together.

Whisk - To mix all of the Jello Ingredients together.

Spatula - To fold everything together.

How to make Strawberry Fluff Salad

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

This is a true dump and go recipe! No mixers or special equipment needed.

    Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead – This Strawberry Jello fluff salad recipe can be made a day ahead of time and stored covered in the fridge.

Storage – Store leftover salad in the refrigerator covered in an airtight container or covered in plastic wrap.

Freezing/How to freeze – We do not suggest freezing this Cool Whip salad. The texture will change. I have read that you can freeze this for up to 3 months in a freezer safe container but have not tried it. I feel like it tastes best when it is fresh.

    Recipe Variations

Substitutions - Add in nuts  (almonds, walnuts, chopped pecans) or coconut for a bit of crunch if desired. Add in crushed pineapple or pineapple chunks for additional flavor.

Instead of fresh strawberries stir in strawberry pie filling. Just make sure to add it slowly so in mixes in evenly.

Some recipes call for plain yogurt or strawberry yogurt or sweetened condensed milk for even more creaminess..

Change up the flavor of Jello gelatin mix to make a new variation of this fluff salad.

Vegetarian Option -  Plant based strawberry gelatin can be used to make these vegetarian.

Vegan Option –  Vegan Jello mixes can be used to make these vegan.

Gluten Free - Jello is considered Gluten Free

Smaller Serving Size – This recipe is difficult to make in a smaller size since it uses boxed jello mixes and instant pudding mixes. You can change the serving size in the recipe card below to make it smaller.

Larger Group/More servings – This recipe can be doubled. I would suggest making it twice in two containers so it is easier to measure and make sure the mixture is fantastic.

Sugar Free – Use Sugar Free Jello Mix, low calorie pudding mix.

Tips for the Best Strawberry Fluff

We do not suggest using homemade whipped cream since it is not stabilized like Cool Whip.

We do not suggest using frozen strawberries for this recipe. They will not be as bright as fresh strawberries and can add extra moisture to the salad which changes the texture. You would need to blot them dry and even then the salad can become runny.
