I love making Copy Cat Recipes! It is so much fun to enjoy our favorite restaurant treats at home. John loved this copycat Arby's Jamocha Shake, and neither of us missed the trek to get to an Arbyโ€™s.

He has been complaining that he is not drinking as much coffee because the combination of heat and caffeine gives him headaches. After drinking this Copycat Arby's Jamocha Shake Recipe, he told me he would be happy to get his coffee dose from one of these any day.

This recipe is SO EASY to make! It only takes a few minutes, and you have a fantastic copycat version of Arby's Jamocha Shake to enjoy!

    The perfect chocolatey coffee-y treat!

If you are looking for a non-coffee copycat recipe, check out this recipe for a copycat Orange Julius (YUM-OH) or this copycat Wendy's Frosty, which is always great on a hot day! Oh, have you seen this Copy Cat Sonic Peanut Butter Shake? Hello, yum!

What are your favorite ways to cool down on a hot summer day? We are all in for ice cream, shakes, or frozen beverages. I love that this recipe is so easy to make, and I can whip it up in a few seconds.

No stressing, just relaxing with this cool treat that tastes so good and has a nice hit of much-needed coffee!

Plus, not having to drive anywhere is a major bonus! I can just sit out and relax with an iced coffee shake without dealing with traffic or craziness.

Do you feel like people drive just a bit crazier in the summer? Everyone is in a crazy hurry to get places, and going to the grocery store becomes a video game challenge.ย

We made a few new recipes that we think you will love! Now you can make Arby's Sauce and Arby's Horsey Sauce at home! Hello yum!

    Jamocha Shake Ingredients

Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients needed to make an epic Jamocha Shake! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.

    • Cold coffee
    • Low-fat milk
    • Sugar
    • Vanilla Ice Cream
    • Chocolate syrup

Reader Tip - Add cold coffee to an ice cube tray and freeze it before adding the coffee ice cubes to the shake.

Optional toppings - whipped cream, chocolate sauce, sprinkles, coconut flakes

    Equipment Needed

    • Blender: We are big fans of the Ninja Blender and how well it makes frozen drinks.
    • Soda Fountain-Type Glasses: I love the look of these soda fountain glasses. They just make the milkshake look even more decadent.
    • Paper Milkshake Straws: If you are serving this copycat shake at a party or want to make it look like you are at an ice cream counter, I love these paper milkshake straws.

How do you make an Arby's Jamocha Shake?

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post but here's a quick version.

Combine coffee, milk, sugar and blend in the blender for 15 seconds at medium speed

Add in ice cream, chocolate syrup and blend until creamy

Add a drizzle of chocolate syrup to your glass, pour the Jamocha Shake in.

    Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead: We do not suggest making these in advance, as this shake tastes best straight from the blender.

Freezing/How to Freeze + Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer.

    Recipe Variations

Substitutions: We use whatever milk we have in the fridge. Feel free to use whole milk for a thicker shake. Almond milk and other alternative milks can also be used.ย

Vegetarian Option: This recipe is vegetarian-friendly.

Vegan Option: Make your Jamocha Shake plant-based by substituting the dairy-containing ingredients with dairy-free ice cream, chocolate syrup, and your go-to plant-based milk.

Gluten-Free: Whether this recipe is gluten-free depends on whether your ingredients and add-ins are gluten-free, so check the labeling on everything if this is a dietary concern.

Alcoholic Option: Take this recipe to boozy, adults-only flavor town by blending the shake with a shot or two of vodka, whiskey, rum, Kahlรบa, or Irish cream.

Smaller Serving Size: The written recipe yields two servings, but you can scale it down for a smaller serving.

Make it Spicy: The original Arbyโ€™s recipe isnโ€™t prepared spicy, but you can turn it into an amped-up Mexican mocha with dashes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne pepper.

Larger Group/More Servings: As with making the shake in smaller portions, scale the written recipe up if serving for more than two people.

Sugar-Free: As with our gluten-free guidance, confirm the sugar content of your ingredients by checking the labels if youโ€™re watching your sugar intake. The chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream will be the primary sugar culprits, so make your sugar-free and low-sugar swaps as necessary.

    Do Jamocha Shakes have caffeine?

Yes, but it is a fairly low level of caffeine. Arby's uses an instant coffee powder to make their Jamocha syrup.

Tips for the Best Copycat Arbyโ€™s Jamocha Shake

    • Any cold coffee, including cold brew, is yummy in this recipe!
    • Weโ€™ve seen versions that add protein powder for some extra nutrition.
    • Arbyโ€™s uses instant coffee powder in their Jamocha syrup (this also gives it a low level of caffeine), so add some espresso powder or instant coffee for a bolder coffee flavor.
    • If your shake is less thick than you want, add more vanilla ice cream. Similarly, add more milk or coffee to loosen it up, depending on your desired taste.
    • Nutrition information, including calories, protein, calcium, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamin c, potassium, cholesterol, sodium, trans fat, monounsaturated fat, polyunsaturated fat, and more, will vary depending on the products used.

Oh, that looks so good! My husband is not a coffee fan but I wouldn't regret making this and keeping a spare in the freezer!
