Easy Boom Boom Sauce made with mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and a few other ingredients to make a spicy mayonnaise-based chili sauce perfect for using as a dipping sauce or spread.
Boom Boom Sauce Recipe
I have to admit I love dipping sauces! My favorite meals are the ones when we set out multiple dipping sauces and an assortment of things to dip in them.
We recently set out this Boom Boom Sauce along with Japanese Spicy Mayo, Comeback Sauce, and Fry Sauce along with Air fryer French fries, tater tots, chicken nuggets, chicken strips, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and more.
It was so much fun having a group of people over and everyone was able to design their own plate of food. It was a super low-key night of relaxing and catching up after not seeing each other in way too long.
We try to keep an assortment of sauces in the fridge at all times so we can whip out a quick and easy dinner or snack. If you have followed the site for a while you may have noticed I am on an air fryer kick right now. I have been having so much fun making all the air fryer recipes I possibly can.
Ingredients
- Mayonnaise
- Ketchup
- Sweet Chili Sauce
- Garlic Powder
- Sriracha
Sweet Chili Sauce - I find sweet chili sauce in the international aisle in our grocery store. You can also buy it on Amazon.
Mayonnaise - You can use vegan mayonnaise if you would like to make this boom boom sauce vegan.
Equipment Needed
Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.
Whisk
Measuring cups
The best part of this recipe is how few things you need to make it! Just a bowl, whisk and measuring cups and you have everything you need. We like making it in these Pyrex glass bowls that have a tight sealing lid so we can store it easily in the refrigerator.
Recipe Tips
This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled so you have a nice amount in the refrigerator.
Plan for this sauce to rest in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving it. This gives the flavors time to meld together and for it to taste amazing.
You can adjust the amount of garlic powder, salt and pepper to your tastes. Feel free to add in more sweet chili sauce or less depending on the spice level you enjoy.
This sauce is great with burgers, fries, shrimp, really anything you want to add a bit of sweet-spicy chili sauce to.
We keep hearing this sauce is served at Sheetz gas stations. We do not have any locations near us so I haven't had a chance to try their sauce. I am hoping we can do an East Coast National Park trip soon and I plan on checking out the Sheetz Boom Boom Sauce while we are there.
If you like a bit more of an onion flavor you can add in about a half teaspoon of onion powder.
This sauce also works great as a salad dressing!
We love that it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare and always tastes amazing.
