Welcome to Day 6 of Mummy Week! We are almost 7 full days into sharing Mummy-inspired recipes.

    So far we have shared

Day 1 - Mummy Crescent Dogs

    Day 2 - Mummy Donuts

    Day 3 - Mummy Twinkies

    Day 4 - Mummy Brownies

Day 5 - Mummy Rice Krispie Treats

and now day 6 is adorable Nutter Butter mummy cookies. These were so fun to make!

We are so close to closing out the week though I may end up going a few days past the week mark. I had so much fun making mummy desserts I ended up doing more than a weeks worth.

These mummy cookies are the perfect quick and easy Halloween Treat. Kids will love how cute they look while you can be excited the total time is less than 15 minutes.

    Ingredients

This is a quick overview of the simple ingredients that you'll need to make fun Nutter Butter Mummies! Specific measurements and step-by-step instructions are included in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

    • Nutter Butters or similar peanut butter cookies
    • White Candy Melts/White Chocolate Chips
    • Candy Eyes

    Equipment Needed

Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It is large enough that you can dip the Nutter Butters without getting chocolate all over your hands. Make sure to use a microwave-safe bowl.

Spoon/ squeeze bottle - You can use either a spoon or a squeeze bottle to create the mummy bandages on the Nutter Butters.

Baking Sheets - We are huge fans of these baking sheets with sides. You don't have to worry; you will move the Nutter Butter Mummies and have them slide off the sides.

Parchment Paper -ย  I love that I can use parchment paper to help make clean-up a breeze. You can also use wax paper.

Cooling Rack/Drying Rack - We like to use a drying rack to let the excess chocolate drip off.

How to make Nutter Butter Mummies

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

Step 1 - Gather all of the supplies and prep baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2 - Melt candy melts/almond bark in 30-second intervals making sure to stir after every interval.

Step 3 - Carefully dip the Nutter Butter Cookies into the white chocolate until the tops are fully coated. Place on the parchment lined baking sheet.

Step 4 - Add Candy Eyeballs and let the top layer set.

Step 5 - Once the top layer is set use a spoon to drizzle white chocolate in a zigzag pattern to create the mummy's wrapping/bandages. You can also pipe the white chocolate melts onto the cookies with a piping bag.

    Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead โ€“These can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 day.

Storage โ€“ Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days. While these can be stored in the refrigerator they may start to sweat slightly which can cause the texture to change.

Freezing/How to freeze โ€“ We do not recommend freezing the finished cookies. Storing them in the freezer can change the texture of the cookie.

    Recipe Variations

Substitutions - Any cookie can be used to make these mummy treats.

Vegetarian Option - This recipe is vegetarian.

Vegan Option โ€“ From what I have read Nutter Butters are vegan except for maybe the sugar used. I would check to make sure or use a specific vegan cookie brand if you are worried.

Gluten Free - Nutter Butters are not gluten-free. We suggest adapting the recipe to use a gluten-free cookie you are comfortable with.

Smaller Serving Size โ€“ This recipe can be used to make 1 to 100 Mummy Nutter Butters.

Larger Group/More servings โ€“ This recipe can easily be increased to make an unlimited amount of Nutter Butter Mummies just make sure you have enough space for the chocolate to set.
