I have no idea how this cocktail shot got its name, but I love that it is a green cocktail!

It is perfect for Christmas or St. Patrick's Day. We love drink recipes that are enjoyable year-round but work perfectly for big holidays.

Check out these great holiday toasts to say cheers and spread good vibes.

This green Broken Down Golf Cart drink recipe has flavors of melon and almond from the amaretto and melon liqueurs. It is a delicious fruity drink with a bit of sweetness.

It is not a heavy-hitting cocktail since there is no base liquor unless you add some vodka.

It is the perfect fun green cocktail for parties or after a day on the golf course.

Broken Down Golf Cart Shot ingredients, amaretto, melon liqueur, and lime

    Variation

Instead of lime juice add in an ounce of cranberry juice.

    Equipment Needed

    • Ice Cube maker - This ice cube maker produces the most amazing cubes of ice perfect for cocktails. It easily fits in the freezer and you can make up to 3 trays of round ball ice at a time.

    Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead + Storage: The Broken Down Golf Cart Shot can be batch-prepped up to three days before serving. Refrigerate it in an airtight container until serving, shaking it just before serving in case any ingredients have settled.

Freezing/How to Freeze: We do not recommend freezing this cocktail. It may freeze solid in your fridge without a base spirit to keep it slushy.

Recipe Variations + Tips for the Best Broken Down Golf Cart Shot

Substitutions: Replace the lime juice with an ounce of cranberry juice if you prefer this flavor.

Vegetarian Option: This bright green drink is vegetarian-friendly.

Vegan Option: Vegans should choose a vegan amaretto when making the Broken Down Golf Cart Shot, as some amaretto brands may contain honey or other animal-derived sweeteners.

Gluten-Free: Look for amaretto and a melon liqueur with a gluten-free label to make this shot safe for a gluten-free diet.

Alcohol-Free Option: Replace the amaretto and Midori with NA alternatives to make this green shot and cocktail alcohol-free.

Make It Spicy: We havenโ€™t seen any spicy preparations of this drink.

Larger Group/More Servings: Double each ingredient to upsize this drink into a full-sized Broken Down Golf Cart Shot, and add a shot of vodka for a more potent drink.

Sugar-Free: This shot contains 15 grams of sugar per serving. We have not found alcoholic sugar-free alternatives to Amaretto and Midori. There seem to be many sugar-free syrups with these flavors if you donโ€™t mind skipping the alcohol or replacing it with vodka.
