I bought way too much eggnog from Costco. LOL! I grabbed the box of two eggnogs, thinking it would be enough to make a couple of eggnog recipes perfect for the holidays.

I will admit that I didn't stop to look at the size of the boxes. I just tossed them in our cart and kept going to get all the things on my grocery list.

Well, in true Costco fashion, the boxes are not small. I am telling you this to mentally prepare you for the sheer number of eggnog recipes shared this month.

There will likely be at least five new eggnog recipes, but there may still be more. I still need to finish the first bottle of eggnog, and I have made five new recipes.

Did you see the RumChata Hot Chocolate and RumChata Eggnog Cocktail we shared earlier this week? I have been deep into baking, cooking, and finding other ways to make the holiday season easier.

This great recipe is perfect for Christmas Dinner or a quick and easy Christmas dessert for the holidays.

Like our No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie, this recipe takes minutes to prepare!

I love that you can make this and store it in the fridge beforehand. No oven, no saucepan; just a bowl, hand mixer, and a few minutes are needed, perfect for the holidays.

Be sure you put it in a spot where nothing will fall on it or squish the pie filling. We recently had a jalapeรฑo pepper decide to nose-dive into a pie that I was waiting to photograph.

Is eggnog a family favorite in your house or something people run from?

    What Is Eggnog?

Eggnog is a milk and egg drink usually served during the holidays. It has also been called milk punch.

Eggnog has a sweet, creamy custard flavor.

    Where to Buy Eggnog

Eggnog is available in our local grocery store during the holiday season. It usually appears in the dairy case around early November and can be seen until Christmas.

You can also find spiked eggnog in many liquor stores.

    Ingredients

Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients needed to make an epic No-Bake Eggnog Pie! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.

    • Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix
    • Eggnog
    • Milk
    • Ground Nutmeg
    • Cool Whip Whipped Topping
    • Graham Cracker Pie Crust

Optional Garnishes: Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Ice Cream, Additional Whipped Topping

    Equipment Needed

    • Hand Mixer
    • Spatula: Grab your favorite spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl and get all of the yummy goodness mixed in.
    • Large Mixing Bowl: We are big fans of this glass batter bowl with a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.
    • Measuring Cupsย
    • Pie Plate/ pie pan - If you are making your own graham cracker crust

How to Make a No-Bake Eggnog Pie

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

dry vanilla pudding pouring into a glass bowl with eggnog for eggnog pie

Using a hand mixer or whisk, combine eggnog, milk, and vanilla pudding mix in a large mixing bowl. You want everything to combine so the pudding mix activates with the liquid.

You want everything to combine and for the pudding mix to activate with the liquid.

Cool whip on top of eggnog pie mixture in a glass bowl

Gently fold in the Cool Whip Whipped Cream into the eggnog mixture. Stir it smoothly so you don't lose the air in the Cool Whip. This is what makes the Egg Nog Pie nice and fluffy.

It should have a smooth texture

    Preparation and Storage

    Make-Ahead:

This No-Bake Eggnog Pie is make-ahead-friendly! Let it set in your fridge for at least three hours before serving for the best results.

    Storage:

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container and enjoy them within three to five days. The graham cracker crust will turn a bit soggy as it absorbs moisture from the pie, but it will still taste terrific.

    Freezing/How to Freeze:

This no-bake pie freezes well! Transfer whole or individually wrapped leftovers to an airtight, freezer-safe container and enjoy them within three to four months. Let frozen leftovers thaw overnight in your fridge before serving. Leave off the final Cool Whip topping until serving.

    Recipe Variations

    Substitutions:

For the crust, you can use a store-bought graham cracker, homemade, or pie crust if you prefer that flavor. You can also use biscoff cookie or other cookies to make the crust.ย

You can leave out the nutmeg if you are not a nutmeg fan.

For this recipe, you just need the dry vanilla pudding mix and don't need to prepare it according to the box directions. If you want to change the flavor, use cheesecake pudding mix instead.

If you like the flavor of rum with your eggnog, add a bit of rum extract. You can also add a bit of vanilla extract.

You can use any flavored eggnog or regular eggnog for this no bake eggnog cream pie.

    Vegetarian Option:

This easy, no-bake dessert is 100 percent vegetarian!

    Vegan Option:

To make this recipe vegan, use plant-based vanilla instant pudding mix, eggnog, milk, Cool Whip, and graham cracker crust.

    Gluten-Free:

Look for a gluten-free pie crust to make this recipe safe for a gluten-free diet.

    Alcohol-Free Option:

Whether your eggnog has alcohol depends on the type you buy. Some store-bought eggnogs have alcohol already mixed in them, so skip them to make this dessert alcohol-free. The eggnogs in the dairy section of our local grocery store do not have alcohol in them.

    Smaller Serving Size:

Making this recipe into No-Bake Egg Nog Tarts is as easy as pie! Divide the pie mixture across mini graham cracker pie crusts and place them in your fridge to set like the full-sized version.

    Larger Group/More Servings:

The written recipe makes eight servings but can easily be adapted to make more! Use the slider in the recipe card to adjust it to your desired number of servings, and check that you have enough pans and fridge space to make what you need before you start.

    Sugar-Free:ย

This Eggnog Pie contains 16 grams of sugar per serving, with 9 to 21 grams of sugar coming from eggnog. Replace the eggnog, vanilla instant pudding mix, and Cool Whip with sugar-free substitutes to make it sugar-free.

Tips for the Best No-Bake Eggnog Pie

    • If you like the nutmeg flavor, you can mix some of it with eggnog and milk when making the pie or just use it as a garnish.
    • You can serve this No-Bake Eggnog Pie as is or spread Cool Whip over the top for an additional creamy layer.ย
