Easy No-bake Eggnog Pie recipe is the perfect make-ahead holiday dessert. You can whip this creamy no-bake cool whip based pie up a day ahead of time and have it ready to go when you need it.
No Bake Eggnog Pie
I may have bought way to much eggnog from Costco. LOL! I grabbed the box of 2 eggnogs from Costco thinking it would be enough to make a couple of recipes perfect for the holidays.
I am going to admit that I didn't stop to look at what size the boxes were. I just tossed them in our cart and kept going to get all the things on my grocery list.
Well in true Costco fashion the boxes are not small. I am telling you this so you are mentally prepared for the sheer number of eggnog recipes that will be shared this month.
I think there will be at least 5 new eggnog recipes but honestly there may still be more. I haven't even finished the first bottle of eggnog yet and I have made 5 new recipes.
Did you see the RumChata Hot Chocolate and RumChata Eggnog Cocktail we shared earlier this week? I have been deep in baking, cooking, and finding ways to make the holiday season a little easier.
This great recipe is perfect for Christmas Dinner or any time you need to serve a quick and easy Christmas dessert.
Similar to our no bake peanut butter pie this recipe takes minutes to prepare!
I truly love that you can make this ahead of time and just store it in the fridge. No oven needed, no saucepan, just a bowl, hand mixer, and a few minutes needed which is perfect for the holidays.
Make sure you put it in a spot nothing is going to fall on it or squish the pie filling. We recently had a jalapeno pepper decide to nose dive into a pie that I was waiting to photograph.
If eggnog a family favorite in your house or something people run from?
Ingredients
- Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix
- Eggnog
- Milk
- Ground Nutmeg
- Cool Whip whipped topping
- Graham Cracker pie crust
Crust - You can use a store bought graham cracker crust or a homemade crust. You can also use a pie crust if you prefer that flavor.
Nutmeg - If you are not a fan of nutmeg you can easily leave it out.
Vanilla Pudding Mix - You just need the dry mix, you don't need to prepare it according to the box directions. If you want to change the flavor you can use cheesecake pudding mix instead.
Optional Ingredients - If you like the flavor of rum with your eggnog you can add in a bit of rum extract. You can also add in a bit of vanilla extract.
Optional Garnishes - Nutmeg, cinnamon, ice cream, additional whipped topping. You can also use heavy cream to make stiff peaks and top the pie instead of Cool Whip.
Equipment Needed
Hand Mixer - An electric mixer will make it so much easier to make this creamy delicious no bake pie.
Spatula - Grab your favorite spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl and get all of the yummy goodness mixed in.
Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.
If you are making a homemade graham cracker crust, you will also need a rolling pin or food processor to crumble the graham crackers.
How to Make a No-Bake Eggnog Pie
Step 1 - Combine eggnog, milk, vanilla pudding mix in a large mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer or whisk mix together
You want everything to combine and for the pudding mix to activate with the liquid.
Step 2 - Gently fold in the Cool Whip Whipped Cream into the eggnog mixture.
Make sure to smoothly stir it in so you don't lose the air in the cool whip. This is what makes the egg nog pie nice and fluffy.
Step 3 - Pour into a graham cracker crust and evenly spread. Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours.
Step 4 - You can serve this no bake eggnog pie as is or spread cool whip over the top for an additional creamy layer.
Step 5 - Garnish/Sprinkle with ground nutmeg and serve.
Enjoy a slice of pie while savoring how easy it was to make!
