Happy November! Once Halloween is over, you know what that meansโ€ฆ(insert drummer boy drum roll)

    It's time for Eggnog Recipes!

Each year, we switch from Pumpkin Spice Latte to Starbucks Eggnog Latte to celebrate the holiday season.

Do you love delicious holiday treats as much as we do during the most wonderful time of the year?

    Ingredients

Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients needed to make an epic Egg Nog Latte! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.

    • Eggnog
    • Heavy Cream or Half-and-Half
    • Espresso or Strong Coffee
    • Nutmeg for Garnish
    • Cool Whip or Whipped Cream

    Garnish - Sprinkle of nutmeg

We hope you enjoy this DIY Homemade Eggnog Latte Recipe! This hot beverage is a treat to savor when the weather starts cooling down!

    Equipment Needed

    • Small Saucepanย

Serve in a cute coffee mug

We prepare this recipe on the stovetop but it can also be adapted to the microwave.

A milk frother can be used to froth the milk and eggnog together before adding in the coffee.

    Preparation and Storage

Make-Ahead + Storage: This holiday-themed Starbucks copycat recipe is make-ahead-friendly! Leftovers stored in an airtight container will keep in your fridge for up to three days.

Freezing/How to Freeze: You may be surprised that eggnog and coffee freeze well for up to two months. Southern Living recommends freezing brewed coffee in ice trays double-secured in a freezer-safe bag or plastic wrap.

How to Reheat: Pour your refrigerated leftovers into a glass for an Iced Eggnog Latte. Frozen Eggnog Latte cubes make fantastic, caffeinated additions to a tall glass of milk or blended with milk for an instant eggnog milkshake.

    ย

    Recipe Variations

Substitutions: Half and half is a solid replacement for heavy whipping cream if you want a lighter beverage.ย

This can also be made with regular milk if preferred.

Vegetarian Option: This recipe is vegetarian-friendly!

Vegan Option: Vegans should replace the eggnog, heavy whipping cream, and Cool Whip with plant-based alternatives (non-dairy milk).

We have seen coconut milk, oat milk, and almond milk egg nog available in stores this year.

Gluten-Free: This recipe should be gluten-free, as none of the ingredients typically contain gluten. However, check each label if you are highly sensitive.

Alcohol-Free Option: We donโ€™t use alcohol in our Eggnog Latte.

Boozy option: You can add a shot or two of Fireball, RumChata, amaretto, Brandy, Whiskey, rum, or bourbon to make it adults-only. Additionally, adding Kahlรบa and vodka makes it an Eggnog Mudslide!

Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings: The written recipe makes two servings. Scale it up or down to your desired number of servings.

Make it Spicy: A quality eggnog should have enough flavor, but you can add vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and cloves for a more robust Eggnog Latte.

Sugar-Free: The written recipe contains 10 grams of sugar per serving.

We are starting to see light versions of eggnog sold in stores with less calories.ย
