Are you ready for snow days? Tell me I am not the only one dreading them! If only they could stay away until maybe Christmas and then January. By then, I will be better prepared for them. Until then, we can comfort ourselves with a piping hot mug filled with CrockPot White Hot Chocolate.

I love this spin on classic hot chocolate. This warming beverage is a fun way to surprise the family with something new and delicious.

If you like a more traditional hot chocolate, check out this CrockPot Mexican Hot Chocolate or regular CrockPot Hot Chocolate! For a fun twist, we also have Nutella Hot Chocolate.

    Preparation and Storage

Make-Ahead: This yummy white chocolate hot cocoa is make-ahead-friendly! You can keep it in a CrockPot set to warm for up to two hours.

Storage: Transfer any leftovers to an airtight container, and enjoy them within three days.

Freezing/How to Freeze: While thereโ€™s nothing wrong from a food safety standpoint with freezing hot chocolate, frozen dairy-based products can develop a grainy texture when thawed, which no one will be happy about. We have an adults-only frozen Boozy Hot Chocolate recipe for ice-cold hot cocoa!

How to Reheat: If you have a large batch to reheat, refrigerated CrockPot White Hot Chocolate reheats well in a slow cooker set to warm. Otherwise, you can microwave individual leftovers in a microwave-safe mug.

    Recipe Variations

Substitutions: You can use ground cinnamon to taste if you donโ€™t have cinnamon sticks. For Pumpkin White Hot Chocolate, replace the cinnamon sticks and ground nutmeg with pumpkin pie spice. Replace the cinnamon and nutmeg with chai spices for warmly-spiced white hot chocolate.

Vegetarian Option: This recipe is vegetarian-friendly!

Vegan Option: Vegans should replace the white chocolate, milk, half and half, sweetened condensed milk, and marshmallow fluff with plant-based alternatives to make this recipe vegan-friendly

Almond milk works great for this recipe.

Gluten-Free: Gluten-free eaters should use gluten-free white chocolate and marshmallow fluff when making this CrockPot White Hot Chocolate.

Alcohol-Free Option: We donโ€™t use alcohol in this recipe, but RumChata, whiskey, or bourbon would be fantastic additions that complement the cinnamon and nutmeg.

Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings: The written recipe makes eight servings. Scale it up or down to your desired yield. You may need extra CrockPots for additional batches; I have three!

Make it Spicy: Add cayenne pepper for a White Mexican Hot Chocolate to keep you warm during the dreary winter months!

Sugar-Free: The written recipe contains 87 grams of sugar per serving. The chopped white chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, and marshmallow fluff have the most sugar, so seek out sugar-free alternatives of these ingredients.
