    This easy black bean salsa is the perfect upgrade to store-bought salsa. Start with your favorite jar of salsa and jazz it up to take it to a whole new level!

    You can easily make homemade salsa if you prefer. I love how easy it is to use premade salsa and a few extra ingredients to make this black bean salsa. It is a great, easy, make-ahead appetizer for parties.

    I can make it up during the day and have it ready when the party starts. I am always looking for ways to make party prep easier.

    I will admit that there are days I just want to snack on chips and salsa.

    Ingredients Needed

    • Salsa
    • Green Onions
    • Lime Juice
    • Olive Oil
    • Minced Garlic
    • Ground Cumin
    • Chopped Fresh Cilantro
    • Avocado

    Optional - Red Bell Pepper, corn, salt and pepper, red onions, chili powder, garlic powder, fresh corn kernels, fresh parsley

    How to make Black Bean Salsa

    I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

    This dip recipe is so easy to make! You only need a big mixing bowl, a spoon, and a knife for the chopped avocado.

    Rinse and drain the black beans before using them. Add all ingredients except avocado into the bowl and stir together.

    Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving so the flavors can meld. Chop the avocado and fold it into the salsa right before serving.

    This Black Bean Salsa is make-ahead-friendly! It tastes best when refrigerated for at least an hour before serving so the flavors can meld together.

    Storage:

    Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container and enjoy them within five days.

    We like enjoying this Black Bean Salsa fresh, but you can also freeze leftovers in an airtight, freezer-safe container or freezer bag for later enjoyment. Enjoy frozen leftovers within three months, and thaw them overnight in your fridge before serving.

    Ingredients

    • 15 Ounce Black Beans
    • 1 cup salsa
    • ยผ cup green onions chopped
    • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
    • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
    • ยฝ teaspoon minced garlic
    • ยผ teaspoon ground cumin
    • 2 tablespoons Cilantro chopped
    • 1 Avocado chopped

    Instructions

    • Rinse and drain black beans, pour into a large mixing bowl.
    • Add salsa, green onions, lime juice, cumin, garlic, and cilantro and stir together. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
    • Chop avocado and fold in right before serving.
