This BLT Dip is one of our favorite party dips! It is so easy to make, and everyone loves it.

This creamy BLT dip gives you the flavor of classic Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwiches without the bread. My husband is a massive fan of BLT sandwiches. He loves this dip.

I am going to share my husband's secret for this dip. Before we serve it, he takes a chunk of it and puts it in a bowl hidden in the fridge. The next day, he will make a sandwich by spreading this dip on some bread and adding a slice of cheddar cheese.

This dip is such a crowd-pleaser that I usually double the recipe and serve it in two bowls so it is easy to get to the food table.

We have been watching football every weekend, and this is one of our favorite appetizers for game day.

Sour cream, a head of lettuce, tomato, cream cheese, package of bacon, and garlic powder on a cutting board

    Ingredients

Here is a quick overview of the simple ingredients needed to make an epic BLT Dip! The printable recipe card at the bottom of the post includes specific measurements and step-by-step instructions.

    • Cream Cheese
    • Sour Cream
    • Garlic Powder
    • Bacon
    • Tomato
    • Lettuceย

Optional Garnishes: Green Onions, Diced Avocado

Dippers - Make sure you use strong chips that can handle the weight of this dip. We suggest thicker tortilla chips or pita chips. You can also use potato chips, toast, bagel chips, carrot sticks, celery sticks, crackers, pretzels, baguette slices, crostini, bell pepper slices

Optional garnish - green onions, diced avocado,

    Equipment Needed

    • Hand Mixer/Stand Mixer - You can mix this with either a hand mixer or your stand mixer.
    • Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.
    • Serving dish - You can serve this in a pie plate or large bowl. There needs to be room for quests to get their chips into the bowl.

    How to make BLT Dip

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

Cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder in a glass bowl

Combine cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder in a mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to mix everything until nice and creamy.

Bacon pieces on top of the cream cheese mixture in a glass bowl with a spatula

Fold in 2-4 slices of chopped bacon into this mixture. Place in the refrigerator to chill.

Chop tomato and lettuce, and crumble bacon into small pieces.

Creamy dip mixture in a white bowl next to bacon and lettuce

Add the cream cheese mixture to a serving bowl. Before serving, top with bacon, shredded lettuce, and diced tomato.

    Preparation and Storage

    Make Ahead:ย

This BLT Dip is make-ahead-friendly! Follow the instructions until the last step of adding the toppings, then add the toppings right before serving.

Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container and enjoy them within three days.

    Freezing/How to Freeze:

We do not suggest freezing this dip, as it contains dairy products that turn grainy when thawed.

    ย

    Recipe Variations

    Substitutions:

We have seen recipes that substitute the tomato with a can of Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilis. You can try this for more flavor and one less ingredient to prep, but the dip may taste less like a BLT.

    Vegetarian Option:ย

Vegetarians should replace the bacon with their favorite meatless bacon to make this recipe vegetarian.

    Vegan Option:ย

In addition to the guidance for vegetarians, vegans should use plant-based cream cheese and sour cream to make this BLT Dip vegan.

    Gluten-Free:ย

This recipe should be gluten-free, as none of its ingredients typically contain gluten. Look for a gluten-free label on your bacon to avoid cross-contamination from flavorings or preservatives.

Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings:

The written recipe makes six servings and adjusts quickly to any serving size. Use the slider in the recipe card below for a different serving size.

If you are serving a large group, you can double this recipe and serve it in a pie pan, making it easy for guests to dip into.

Make It Spicy: Add a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce to spice up your BLT Dip.

Sugar-Free: The written recipe contains 3 grams of sugar per serving. Look for cream cheese and bacon with no added sugars to make it sugar-free.

    ย

Tips for the Best BLT Dip

    • We suggest leaving the cream cheese at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes before you mix it with the rest of the ingredients. When softened, it will combine much more quickly.
    • If you set the diced tomatoes on a paper towel, the paper towel will absorb the excess juices before you add them to the dip.

What to Serve with BLT Dip

Aside from serving this crowd-pleasing BLT Dip with veggies, corn or tortilla chips, celery, carrot sticks, bell pepper slices, pita chips, toast points, or Frito Scoops, you can pair it with other tailgating and snacktime favorites for a game-day-ready appetizer platter in no time!
