I love easy side dishes, especially for the holidays. The last thing you want to do is stress over when things need to go into the oven or cook on the stovetop. I love setting up as many dishes as possible in my CrockPot, which makes life much easier.

- Non-Stick Cooking Spray
- Paper Towels: You can place paper towels under the slow cooker lid to help collect condensation so it doesn't fall on the CrockPot corn casserole recipe.
- Large Mixing Bowl: We are big fans of this glass batter bowl with a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.
- CrockPot: We suggest using a CrockPot with a digital timer that automatically switches the slow cooker setting to warm after a set time.

Recipe Variations
Substitutions:
You can use fresh, canned, or frozen corn in this recipe; just use what you have in your kitchen if you donโt want to purchase additional ingredients.
You can also use brown sugar instead of white sugar to make this CrockPot Corn Pudding. Consider adding some cinnamon if you go this route to add more warm winter flavors to this dish.
We have seen some recipes that add cream cheese to make their corn pudding extra rich.
Optional is adding cheddar cheese or pepper jack cheese for a cheesier crock pot corn casserole recipe.
Vegetarian Option: This recipe is vegetarian-friendly!
Vegan Option: Vegans should replace eggs, butter, and milk with plant-based alternatives to make this recipe vegan.
Gluten-Free: The ingredients in this recipe are typically gluten-free, so the dish should be safe for gluten-free eaters. Look for a gluten-free label on canned corn, as the liquid itโs submerged in may contain gluten-unsafe additives.
Alcohol-Free Option: Corn pudding typically doesnโt contain alcohol, nor do we use any in ours. Check out this Savory Chardonnay Corn Pudding by Jordan Vineyard & Winery if you crave an adult-only version.
Smaller Serving Size + Larger Group/More Servings: The written recipe makes four servings. Scale it up or down to your desired yield, keeping in mind that you may need to work in batches if you scale up.
Make it Spicy: Cayenne powder, red chili pepper flakes, chili powder, and chopped jalapeรฑos are fantastic mix-ins if you want spicy corn casserole.
Sugar-Free: This recipe contains 10 grams of sugar per serving. Replace white sugar with a sugar-free substitute to make it sugar-free.
Tips for the Best CrockPot Corn Pudding
- If you use canned corn in this recipe, drain the liquid from the corn before adding it to the pot. While moist corn pudding is good, watery corn pudding is not.
- We like keeping this classic recipe delightfully simple, but you can turn it into a loaded CrockPot Corn Pudding by adding meat or cheese.
